I began taking photographs because I was interested in the world. For me, photos are a perfect piece of a time and place that I can study and show off to everyone. I want to make images from which people can draw something familiar and truthful. I also want these images to convey something new about the world to viewers that they may have overlooked. Mainly, I take photographs because I'm voracious about learning about everything around me and I want to be able to take piece of the world for myself. |
| The night pictures were inspired by traditional nightlife photography and the new culture of voyeurism. The technique was inspired by the first photojournalists who shot with 35mm black and white film. |
